TOKYO -- Tokyo's popular Shibuya and Shinjuku districts are teaming up to try and stop street drinking and restrict public partying over Halloween in what they say is an effort to combat overtourism as the areas have become increasingly popular with foreign visitors.
Japan is in the midst of an inbound tourism boom, driven by the relaxation of pandemic restrictions, the weak yen making the country a bargain destination and the increasing popularity of Japanese pop culture, including manga and anime.
