HONG KONG -- Suncity Group, Macao's top operator of VIP rooms, on Wednesday shuttered all of its clubs spread across the city's casinos.
The move comes after Macao prosecutors on Monday detained Suncity boss Alvin Chau on charges of engaging in unlawful gambling operations, money laundering and leading a criminal group. He is alleged to have set up an illegal livestream gambling platform in the Philippines targeted at mainland Chinese.
