TOKYO -- A growing number of apparel sellers are introducing clothing designed to ward off insects, responding to the dengue fever outbreak that shook the nation last summer.
Onward Kashiyama has launched insect-repellent long-sleeved parkas and leggings for children. They will be sold under the Kumikyoku Kids brand for 5,900 yen to 9,900 yen ($47.40 to $79.50), excluding taxes. The company plans to increase parka and leggings sales by 30% from last summer.
