Vietnam's friendly Russian invasion

Ho Chi Minh City -- Russian tourists are Vietnam's fastest growing visitor group by nationality, and increased 71% year on year to 298,000 arrivals in 2013. The figure is expected to reach 350,000 this year paving the way to achieve the goal of 1 million by 2020.

Ho Chi Minh City received its first-ever charter flight from Russia on Oct. 28, confirming Vietnam as a winter escape from the frozen north. Some 200 tourists from Ekaterinburg landed at Tan Son Nhat international airport for a 14-day trip along the coast organized by Pegas Touristik in Russia and Vietnam's Anh Duong Tourist.
