CHIBA, Japan Makuhari Messe, a convention hall on the outskirts of Tokyo, turns into a gamer's dream at this time of year. When visitors step inside, they are welcomed by loud music, beams of light shooting from pavilions, scantily clad female greeters and, most importantly, games galore.

This is the Tokyo Game Show, where game companies and enthusiasts from around the world gather for an annual frenzy of fun and promotion.
