TOKYO -- Yahoo Japan will acquire a Tokyo-based provider of hotel reservation management systems to make it easier for customers to book reservations at lodgings around the country.
On Friday, Yahoo Japan signed a contract to buy all shares of Dynatech for 2 billion yen ($16 million). The Yahoo Travel booking site, which currently lists accommodation plans from trip-planning sites such as JTB's Rurubu Travel, will add plans that link directly to the websites of hotels and other lodging facilities. Dynatech provides reservation systems to 2,000 such facilities across Japan. Yahoo searchers will be directed to these websites, where they can make reservations using their Yahoo IDs.
