Yaskawa to lift Chinese industrial robot output by 25%

Production boost to focus on smaller machines for making electronics

Yaskawa Electric is raising its output of industrial robots.

SHANGHAI -- Yaskawa Electric will increase Chinese production of industrial robots to keep up with brisk demand from manufacturers of electronics products, such as smartphones and computers.

With a Jiangsu Province plant to expand in the second half of 2018, the major Japanese factory automation equipment manufacturer will raise its monthly output in China to 1,500 units from the current 1,200.
