Hong Leong Financial Group is the holding company of the group's banking and financial services.

The group is part of the Hong Leong conglomerate, which runs businesses in Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and the U.K. Its interests are in manufacturing, property development, leisure and investments.

In Malaysia, it operates midsize Hong Leong Bank, which acquired EON Bank in 2011. The company's Carsem Semiconductor business is one of the largest contract assemblers in the world, with plants in Malaysia and China. The group also owns Southern Steel, a leading steelmaker, and the Singapore-listed GuocoLeisure, which manages hotels under the Thistle brand in the U.K. and Malaysia. The company also has casinos in the U.K., notably the high-end Clermont Club.

The group's chairman is Quek Leng Chan, an ethnic Chinese and trained lawyer. His cousin Kwek Leng Beng is the chairman of Hong Leong Finance, Singapore's largest finance company.
