Company Background

Petronas Chemicals Group is a leading chemical producer in Southeast Asia. It has several plants in Malaysia and production capacity of more than 10 million metric tons a year. The company makes a variety of chemicals used in fertilizers and plastics, including olefins, polymers and methanol. Its products are sold in more than 30 countries, particularly in Asia-Pacific.

Petronas Chemicals is led by Chairman Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, who is also a director of holding company, Petronas, the state-owned oil and gas company. Zulkiflee, a process engineer, joined Petronas in 1983.

Petronas Chemicals is one of Petronas' five listed subsidiaries. The parent company is not listed.

The company was founded on March 25, 1998 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
