Company Background

In 1991, it listed its shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange, which later merged to form the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Dwi Soetjipto, who joined the company's subsidiary, Semen Padang, in 1981, was appointed president of Semen Indonesia in 2005. He will complete his second five-year term in 2015. During his tenure, Semen Indonesia has stepped up efforts to expand into neighboring markets, acquiring a cement producer in Vietnam in 2012. The move was praised as one of the first major overseas acquisitions by a state-owned company. Semen Indonesia also plans to set up a factory in Myanmar.
