50 days after demonetization, some order is restored in India

New notes will may reach full circulation in February but rural areas still suffering

NEW DELHI -- There was a last-minute rush to deposit old, defunct rupee notes in banks across the country on Friday but the queues were nowhere near as long or crowds as frantic as 50 days ago when the government made the sudden move to scrap high-value currency.
