MANILA -- The Asian Development Bank on Thursday upgraded its outlook for emerging Asia's gross domestic product growth rate for this year to 5.9% from the previous figure of 5.7%, citing stronger-than-estimated economic growth in China and some other nations.

The latest outlook indicates that this year's emerging Asia will likely mark faster growth than 2016's 5.8%.
