TOKYO -- The Bank of Japan appears closer to deciding when to end its negative interest rate policy as it grows more confident about the outlook for wage growth and inflation, minutes from its January meeting released Wednesday show.

The summary of opinions from the meeting that ended Jan. 23 included more positive views from policymakers on pivoting away from large-scale easing compared with the December meeting.
