China, US loom over regional economies

SINGAPORE -- China's economic vicissitudes and the likely fallout from a rate hike by the U.S. Federal Reserve were the main topics at the Markit-Nikkei Asia Economic Forum in Singapore on Tuesday, organized by the U.K. financial data and marketing company and the Nikkei.

   Panelists broadly agreed that another major economic crisis is unlikely in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), but that Indonesia and Malaysia have some rough patches ahead.
