SHANGHAI -- China's online shopping festival is losing momentum after a strong start, analysts said, highlighting mixed signals for consumer demand in the world's No. 2 economy.

The country's consumer price index (CPI) in May rose 0.3% from a year ago, little changed from April, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday.
