SHANGHAI -- China will raise its statutory retirement age, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress decided on Friday, as the country attempts to address its shrinking workforce.

The retirement age will be gradually increased over the next 15 years. For men, it will rise to age 63, from 60. Female managers will work until 58, instead of 55. And the working years of non-managerial level female employees will be extended to 55, from 50.
