GUANGZHOU -- China is set to put more energy into promoting outdoor sporting activities such as camping and skiing with an eye to boosting consumer spending.

Amer Sports, operator of French outdoor brand Salomon, saw China revenue for the Oct. 1-7 National Day holiday grow 60% from the comparable year-earlier period.
