China-triggered jitters spread around the world

TOKYO -- Global market turbulence is growing stronger as China's opaque and slowing economy inflames investor paranoia. Recession fears have spread to resource-producing nations and even to the U.S. and Germany, which until recently have been seen as having firm economic conditions. 

     Investors are getting frantic in the absence of a growth engine that can absorb any shock that arises.
