VIENTIANE, Laos (Nikkei) -- In Japan, entrepreneurship is seen by the government as a way to revive the economy. In Laos, however, entrepreneurship is regarded by young elites as a realistic path toward personal riches.
Laos is a small country, with a population of just 6.9 million. Nominal per capita gross domestic product there was $1,476 in 2013, making it one of the least-developed countries.
