JAKARTA -- Indonesia's business community is reeling due to a sudden change in the leadership of the national chamber of commerce just a month before Prabowo Subianto replaces Joko "Jokowi" Widodo as president of Southeast Asia's largest economy.

Businesspeople and analysts are speculating that Saturday's change at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), which saw Anindya Bakrie replace Arsjad Rasjid as chairman, is linked to political maneuvering by Jokowi to solidify his power base after he steps down on Oct. 20.
