HONG KONG -- China's consumer inflation rate hit the lowest level in nine months in December, adding to concerns that deflationary pressure will continue to constrain the world's second-largest economy.
The consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.1% on the year in December, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Thursday. The figure was down for the fourth straight month, coming in below the 0.2% increase in November.
