City's mobile service providers fear another spectrum auction

HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong government is at loggerheads with mobile service providers over its plan to auction off mobile spectrum once current licenses expire.

The industry says auctioning off spectrum they already license will lead to a spike in subscriber and other fees borne by smartphone users.
