TOKYO -- Japan's seasonally adjusted gross domestic product for May fell 0.8% from the previous month after growing consecutively since February, the Japan Center for Economic Research said on Monday.

Based on the average figures for the April-May period, the think tank now expects the economy to grow 2.7% in the second quarter over first quarter growth.
