TOKYO -- Japan's gross domestic product is estimated to have grown by an annualized 0.8% in December from the previous month, according to Tokyo-based Japan Center for Economic Research.

The think tank said the expansion stemmed from solid goods exports, even as Japan's private consumption dipped slightly. This means that Asia's second-largest economy is likely to have grown in the final quarter of 2023.
