Capital spending grows 2.6%, while consumer expenditures dip

TOKYO -- Japan's economy grew 0.3% on the month in December when adjusted for inflation, according to estimates published Monday by the Japan Center for Economic Research.

Capital spending drove the growth with a 2.6% increase, while consumer spending fell 0.2%.
