TOKYO -- Following a cabinet shake-up on Wednesday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is renewing efforts to raise wages and lift the economy, with plans to compile a new stimulus package in October.

"We will bolster the trend of structural wage hikes and increased investments so they keep pace with inflation," he told reporters after the new cabinet was sworn in.
