TOKYO -- Japan's global ranking in gross domestic product per capita is on track to drop from 29th last year to 45th in 2075, according to the Japan Center for Economic Research, which says that artificial intelligence and employment reform are needed to improve growth.

The interim version of JCER's roughly once-in-five-years forecast puts Japan in the middle of the pack among the 83 economies covered.
