TOKYO -- Japan's industrial production is being whipped around by testing scandals involving some of its biggest automakers.
Daihatsu Motor came under fire in 2023 for rigging new-vehicle safety tests. More recently, Daihatsu parent Toyota Motor acknowledged irregularities in safety testing for model certification.
