Japan mulls reforms to shaky pension system

TOKYO -- Japan's welfare ministry began on Thursday its regular evaluation of the public pension system, potentially considering a range of reforms to both fund management and the system itself to ensure its viability for the next 100 years.

     An advisory panel to the Social Security Council examines the system every five years.
