TOKYO -- Japan's economy expanded an annualized 0.4% in July from the previous month, boosted by increased exports, according to an estimate released by the Japan Center for Economic Research on Wednesday.

The 2.6% rise in overseas shipments was driven by both goods and services, according to JCER. Exports to the EU increased by 10.4%, while those to other parts of Asia, excluding China, rose 5.5%.
