Shipments have declined for 12 months in a row, Ministry of Finance data shows

TOKYO (Reuters) -- Japan's exports slipped 7.9% in November from a year earlier, down for the 12th straight month, Ministry of Finance data showed on Wednesday.

That compared with an 8.6% drop expected by economists in a Reuters poll and followed a 9.2% fall in October -- the quickest pace of decline in three years.

Imports shed 15.7% in the year to November, compared with the median estimate of a 12.7% decline.

The trade balance came to a deficit of 82.1 billion yen ($755.71 million), against the median estimate of a 369.0 billion yen deficit.
