Japan's business outlook reflects global post-crisis recovery

Tankan survey brightens to 11-year high but is shadowed by weak inflation

TOKYO -- Rising global demand has lifted Japanese corporate sentiment back to the levels preceding the global financial crisis.

The quarterly Tankan survey, released by the Bank of Japan on Friday, shows that the headline index for business confidence among large Japanese manufacturers climbed to 25 for December.
