OSAKA -- Total orders for six major Japanese electronic parts makers rose about 3% on the year to around 1.42 trillion yen ($12.5 billion) in the October-December period, the first gain in five quarters.
The Nikkei compiled the data based on information from Murata Manufacturing, TDK, Kyocera, Nidec, Alps Electric and Nitto Denko. Revenue figures rather than order values were used in some cases.
