BALIKPAPAN, Indonesia/JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo broke ground on Thursday for several construction projects, ranging from a police station to a hotel, in the planned new capital city being built from scratch in the jungle on Borneo.
The Indonesian government plans to move some of its key functions from Jakarta to the new city, Nusantara, next August. Jokowi aims to make the capital relocation his legacy before he leaves office in October after two presidential terms.
