The shock from Donald Trump's Nov. 9 presidential election victory will eventually wear off, but his policies will no doubt preoccupy much of the world as he begins to lay out his governing agenda. For Asia-Pacific nations, perhaps the biggest concern so far has been Trump's vow to quit the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact on his first day in office, come Jan. 20. Given that the TPP was partly engineered by the U.S. to help create a new strategic architecture in Asia, there are fears that Trump will reduce America's position in the region.
