Shares fall despite Federal Reserve pause, ringgit advances

KUALA LUMPUR (NewsRise) -- Malaysian shares fell midday Friday, despite gains in other Asian stock markets, as the U.S. Federal Reserve's move to refrain from raising interest rates reignited worries of a global economic slowdown.

   However, easing concerns of further foreign fund outflows from emerging markets lifted the ringgit.
