SINGAPORE -- The Monetary Authority of Singapore, the city-state's central bank and financial regulator, will get a new chief for the first time in over a decade, as its current Managing Director Ravi Menon is retiring.

The MAS on Monday announced that Chia Der Jiun, currently a permanent secretary at the Manpower Ministry, will replace Menon. The statement said he will officially take over the post in January.
