TAIPEI -- Taiwan expects its economy to grow 4.42% this year, up from an earlier forecast of 4.15% as technology exports remain strong, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics said on Thursday.

Taiwan's economy is underpinned by stable demand for exports and increasing global demand for 5G, automotive electronics, high-end computing, and other internet products, which have driven the increase in demand for chips, the statistics office said in a statement.
