SHANGHAI -- Alibaba Group, JD.com and other Chinese e-commerce companies are supporting small exporters caught in the crossfire of the U.S.-China tariff war, helping them build domestic sales channels.

A representative from a small business in Changzhou, China, that sells kitchenware in the U.S. through Amazon said there is "no doubt" they will be hit hard by the 145% tariff that U.S. President Donald Trump has placed on Chinese goods. The business is holding prices steady for now by selling inventory already in the U.S., but "price hikes are inevitable," the person added.
