CHONGQING, China -- Apple and HP are among American personal computer manufacturers that have suspended shipments from inland China to the U.S. in light of tariffs announced by President Donald Trump.

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn, which assembles such products as Mac computers and iPad tablets for Apple, has paused U.S.-bound shipments from its plant in Chengdu, according to a source at the factory in central China. Apple is expected to gradually shift importing the products from other countries such as India.
