SHANGHAI -- The Chinese government on Monday warned that countries that negotiate trade deals with U.S. President Donald Trump will be hit with countermeasures if they harm its interests.

The statement comes as Beijing and Washington race to court trading partners after imposing unprecedented tariffs on each other.
