TOKYO -- Labor shortages may check U.S. President Donald Trump's push to expand manufacturing in America, the head of a major Japanese parts maker told Nikkei Asia in a recent interview.

Trump has already declared his policy of imposing high tariffs on imported goods a success, citing investment pledges. However, Yoshihisa Kainuma, the 69-year-old chairman and CEO of MinebeaMitsumi, a supplier to some of the world's most famous smartphone brands and automakers, said bringing manufacturing back to the US would be easier said than done.
