TOKYO -- Additional U.S. tariffs on aluminum set to take effect on March 12 will cover 123 products including chipmaking equipment parts and aircraft components, Nikkei has learned, in a potential blow to Japanese companies that rely on exports to America.
On Feb. 10, President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff on steel and aluminum product imports, the details of which were unknown at that point. The items subject to the new tariffs have now been identified through an analysis of the Federal Register published by the government on Tuesday.
