TOKYO/HONG KONG -- The Port of Los Angeles is not expecting a substantial jump in the cargo volume it handles despite a temporary deal between the U.S. and China last weekend to drastically reduce each other's import tariffs.
Christopher Chase, assistant director of marketing at the port, the busiest by volume in North America, said in a conference call hosted by HSBC on Friday, "We don't see a COVID-like spike. We don't see those huge ramp-ups."
