NEW YORK -- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he was waiting for Beijing to call about trade negotiations as the clock ticked toward the start of additional 104% tariffs he has pledged to impose on Chinese imports starting Wednesday.

"China also wants to make a deal, badly, but they don't know how to get it started. We are waiting for their call. It will happen!" he said in a Truth Social post.
