CHICAGO/NEW YORK -- Soybean farmer Ron Moore watched with alarm as the U.S. and China inched toward a trade war. Now both sides have let loose tariffs, threatening a family business that sells one-third of its crop to China.

The Trump administration's "unpredictable" trade policy makes it hard to plan production, said Moore, who describes himself as a supporter of President Donald Trump.
