BEIJING -- A delegation of Japanese business leaders met in Beijing on Friday with China's minister of industry and information technology, who called for strengthening cross-border automobile and chip supply chains despite U.S.-led efforts to wall off his country in high-tech fields.

"There is great potential for the future of industrial cooperation between China and Japan," said the minister, Jin Zhuanglong. "China has a huge market and a well-developed industrial system, where Japan has strengths in high tech."
