SAPPORO, Japan -- Japan's imports of Russian fishery products are humming along despite sluggish movements of people and goods between the two countries due to continued economic sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine war.

Following the national trend, imports of fishery products from Russia to Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan's four main islands, are also hovering at high levels, led by sea urchins and crabs.
