Japan's exports grew for seventh straight month in June

Overseas shipments rose 5.4%, led by semiconductor equipment; imports also up 3.2%

TOKYO -- Japan's exports grew in value terms for the seventh month in a row in June, driven by semiconductor equipment, official data showed on Thursday.

The country's total exports reached 9.2 trillion yen ($59.1 billion), up 5.4% from a year earlier, according to preliminary figures released by the Ministry of Finance. Total imports came in at 8.9 trillion yen, up 3.2%, marking the third consecutive month of growth.
