Marcos says Philippines to ratify RCEP free trade deal 'soon'

TOKYO -- Courting Japanese business executives in Tokyo, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Friday that his country will "soon" ratify the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the world's biggest trade agreement.

Marcos spent the third day of his five-day official visit with Japanese corporate bigwigs, after agreeing with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Thursday to deepen economic and security ties between their two countries.
